This open-growing, deciduous male fern selection produces 3' tall fronds with an airy texture. At the end of each leaf is a forked pinnule - it splits in two. Each frond also ends in a cute little petticoat. This darling mingler is superb when blended with other bold textured woodland inhabitants like hostas. This fern is not fully evergreen as the fertile fronds become relaxed at the base and fall over, although the sterile fronds remain green through the winter.
